Starting from Humble beginnings Theme & Variations Piano Services is a proud family owned business.

Established in 1985 by leading concert technician Ara Vartoukian, Theme & Variations started as a Sydney based piano services business focusing primarily on piano tuning and repairs.

With much success Theme & Variations soon expanded their services to incorporate a piano showroom featuring brands such as Steinway, Yamaha, Young Chang & Ibach pianos.

In 2003 Theme & Variations was commissioned by The Sydney Symphony Orchestra to restore and rebuild their Steinway Concert Grand, and this was the start of a successful partnership that is still current today.  Among many other sponsorships, Theme and Variations is the official sponsor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra International Pianists in Recital Series.
